How many Kyrgyzstanis are out of work?

Bishkek, Aug. 20, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, the number of unemployed citizens registered in the employment services, amounted to 100 thousand 200, the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development reported Thursday.

Data provided as of July 1 show that 78 thousand 600 of them have official status of unemployed.

The official unemployment rate in the republic was 3.1% of the economically active population (2 thousand 538,7 people).

Meanwhile, Dzhalal-Abad Oblast has the highest official unemployment rate. The low level is observed in Bishkek city and Chui Oblast.

Demand for job specialties prevailed among the vacant jobs reported to the employment services. 32 people applied for one vacant job.

As of July 1, 62 thousand 900 people applied to the employment services.

With the assistance of the employment service, 6 thousand 900 citizens out of work are employed.
