Bishkek, Jan.15, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Labour and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic has established an institution to respond promptly to violations of children's rights, and last year alone it received 143 thousand 630 complaints.
According to the press service of the ministry, the Center operates 24 hours a day. Psychologists provide psychological advice over the telephone, including in cases of cruel treatment and violence against minors.
"In 1 thousand 832 appeals subscribers asked for consultation or assistance, consultations and recommendations were given on 1 thousand 120 appeals, 174 subscribers were provided with psychological assistance, 538 appeals, depending on its nature, were redirected to the relevant territorial subdivisions of state bodies, whose competence they belong," Director of the Center Marina Dzhaparkulova said.
Geographical distribution of received calls:
Bishkek city - 38.0%;
Chui Oblast - 19.4%;
Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, 12.2%;
Osh Oblast - 11.2%;
Issyk-Kul Oblast - 8.1%;
Naryn Oblast - 4.1%;
Batken Oblast - 4.0%;
Talas Oblast - 3.0%.
“The phone-calls, addressed to the number of the Center under the Social Development Ministry, 111, are always recorded,” the ministry’s report runs.
