Bishkek, July 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, 2 thousand 94 children have contracted coronavirus in a year, chief doctor of the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare Aina Dzhetybayeva told during a briefing on Tuesday.
From March 2020 to present, 2 thousand 94 cases of coronavirus were registered among children and those treated in hospitals in the country.
"A total of 1,082 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were registered. 1,012 cases have been identified on clinical trials - pneumonia," the specialist said.
According to Aina Dzhetybayeva, in terms of severity of condition, 24.5% of children were admitted moderately severe, 16.5% in a severe condition, 1.7% extremely severe. Complications occurred in 37.5%. Fatal outcome was recorded in 6 cases.
The chief doctor of the National Center urged adults to observe all sanitary and epidemiological measures when walking with children.
“Coronavirus is transmitted by airborne droplets and through touching. Therefore, it is necessary to teach children in the street not to touch the face with their hands without first washing them with soap. Always treat hands, gadgets and wash toys. Try not to visit crowded places with children, etc.,” Dzhetybayeva added.
