Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2020 /Kabar/. As of today, 213 schools have been opened in Batken Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, where 42 thousand 856 children are studying in a traditional offline mode.
According to the data from the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19, earlier, 173 schools throughout the oblast resumed the work.
"After the monitoring the epidemiological situation, decision was taken to increase the number of schools that operate in the traditional mode," the report says.
Regarding the city of Bishkek, Chief physician of the Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance (CSSES) Kuban Kundashev said that capital’s schools will probably open already in the new year.
Higher education institutions (universities) will open after New Year, too.
In late March 2020, Kyrgyzstan shut downed all educational institutions in order to avoid mass infection with coronavirus.
On Nov. 12, a total of 489 schools in regions of the republic have returned to education in a traditional mode.
