Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, 219.4 thousand tons of meat in live weight were produced by economic entities of all categories in the first half of 2021, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture said.
This figure is 3,490 tons, or 1.6% more than during the same period last year.
The increase in meat production in the republic is related to the growth of the number of farm animals, except pigs and poultry.
According to data, provided by the National Statistics Committee, as of Jan. 1, 2021, the number of cattle increased by 35 thousand heads and amounted to 1715.7 thousand heads, sheep and goats - by 11.9 thousand heads and amounted to 6278.7 thousand heads.
The number of pigs decreased by 5,300 and amounted to 29,400 heads and the number of poultry declined by 140,700 and amounted to 6070,400 heads.
All regions of the republic produced more meat than the corresponding period in 2020.
