Regional divisions of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan have begun to investigate criminal cases on the incident on the border territory of Batken Oblast, where multiple damage was caused as a result of illegal actions of the neighboring side, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
A total of 11 criminal cases have been initiated as of May 2, 2021 on the facts of crimes committed during the recent clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
The report said that the criminal cases have been initiated under the articles of mass riots, crimes against peace, hooliganism, damage and destruction of property, illegal border crossing, murder and mass murder at the Golovnoi water intake facility, where after a mortar shelling it was found over 25 bodies of local residents (the exact number is being specified), on the fact of shelling of cars on highways, where there are also casualties among civilians.
In addition, there are 48 reports of various facts, which are attached to criminal cases.
20 experienced investigators of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic were sent to Batken Batken for high-quality investigation of crimes and to provide assistance to investigators of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Batken region.
Currently, an investigation is underway, the amount of caused damage is being specified.
According to the latest data, 34 Kyrgyz people died, including a 12-year-old girl and 178 injured as a result of the clashes.
