Over 3 thsd people take part in athletics race in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2023. /Kabar/. An autumn mass athletics race dedicated to City Day took place in the central square of Osh city of Kyrgyzstan.

The opening ceremony of the race was attended by the head of the social development department of the Osh Mayor’s Office Nurlan Zakirov, the chairman of the committee for physical culture and sports of the Osh Mayor’s Office, Bekdoolot Abakirov, managers, labor collectives of city enterprises and organizations, universities and colleges, secondary schools, law enforcement agencies, military units, medical institutions, city residents.

The race took place at four distances: 400, 500, 1500, 2200 meters. The track and field race was divided into 16 age categories. More than 3,000 people aged from 14 to 67 years (men) and from 14 to 60 years (women) took part in the sporting event.

Participants who took first and prize places were awarded medals, certificates of honor and valuable gifts from the Osh City Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.
