Bishkek, Jan.30, 2020. /Kabar/. In 2019, 33 religious organizations have been registered as legal entities, Head of the Justice Ministry’s Legal Entities and Lien Registration Department Emir Zulpuyev said during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
According to his data, a total of 477 religious organizations are legally registered in Kyrgyzstan.
Emir Zulpuyev stressed not all religious organizations are registered in the Justice Ministry of the country.
"This is not necessary. That's why the Justice Ministry and the State Commission on Religious Affairs may have different data", he said.
The Department head drew attention to the fact that indicators for number of legally registered organizations for 2019 exceeded previous years.
He believes that this is due to the fact that legal registration is needed to perform activity, to obtain a seal, to act as civil rights defenders, etc.
These statistics also include various religious educational institutions (madrasas-Islamic education institutions), religious sites (mosques, churches, etc.).
