Over 40 Kyrgyzstanis serve sentences in Iraqi prisons for involvement in terrorism

Bishkek, April 13, 2023. / Kabar /. 41 Kyrgyzstanis are serving sentences in Iraqi prisons, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

These are citizens convicted by the judicial authorities of the Republic of Iraq for involvement in terrorist activities in Iraq.

The ministry recalled that on February 28, 2023, two citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were repatriated from the Republic of Iraq, having served their sentences.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out comprehensive work with a view to their possible release and repatriation to their homeland.
