Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2022 . / Kabar / . 5,034 people have been evacuated from Chong-Alay region of Osh Oblast, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Thus, 92 of them are placed in one of the mosques in Kashka-Suu village, and the remaining 4,942 people are placed with their relatives.
"At present, the evacuees are being provided with all the necessary conditions and hot meals," the report said.
Violating the ceasefire agreement, at 12:37 local time on Sept. 17, the Tajik side began shelling, by using mortars and artillery mounts, the positions of the Kyrgyz border guards in the village of Teshik-Tash, Karamyk and Karool-Dobo in Osh Oblast.
Later, the shelling was stopped following the negotiations between the Kyrgyz and Tajik sides.
The clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border started on Sept. 14.
According to the Board Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan attacked border guarding and civilian infrastructure objects of Kyrgyzstan along the perimeter of the state border in Batken Oblast.
On Sept. 16 evening, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reached agreement on ceasefire. However, the Tajik side having violated the previously reached agreements, fired mortars at Kyrgyz villages in another Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.
