Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2024. /Kabar/. 5 thousand 60 road accidents were registered in Kyrgyzstan for 9 months of 2024, head of the Road Supervision Department of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Tynychbek Saidov said on the air of Birinchi Radio.
According to his data, more than 1.5 million cars are officially registered in the country, and the number of cars with foreign license plates is also growing.
“Today, the issue of road accidents, which take the lives of children and the lives of the able-bodied part of the population, also causes material and moral damage to citizens, is acute. Awareness raising activities are being carried out on the part of the Main Directorate. At present, the country is conducting a campaign called “Pedestrian”, as the number of cases when pedestrians cross the road in inappropriate places, ignoring road signs, is increasing. Our employees conduct conversations and preventive measures,” Saidov added.
