Over 7,600 cases of domestic violence have been registered in Kyrgyzstan in 10 months, Chief Specialist of the Department of Protection against Domestic Violence and Coordination of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Shabdan Kaipov told at the conference "Combating Gender and Domestic Violence During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Committees for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Achievements and Lessons Learned".
It is necessary to carry out systematic work to prevent and protect against domestic violence, namely, it should be comprehensive, together with a psychologist, law enforcement agencies and representatives of culture and education. "All this comes from upbringing," he said.
Kaipov noted that during the pandemic, the number of domestic violence increased by 20-30%. For 10 months more than 7 thousand 600 appeals were received. Of these, more than 300 facts were registered in the register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and an investigation is underway on them.
