Tashkent, Jan.27, 2020. /Kabar/. 8.28 million foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan in January-December 2019. This figure increased by 28.7%, compared to the same period in 2018, the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
As for the departure of Uzbek citizens abroad, their number has reached 12.93 million people. As compared to January-December 2018, this indicator decreased by 6.5%.
Foreign nationals arriving in Uzbekistan from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) made up 7.66 million people, 92.5% of the total, and from non-CIS countries 617,600 people (7.5% of the total).
The number of Uzbek citizens who left the country in January-December 2019 for the CIS countries reached 12.3 million, or 95.2 % of the total, and 627,000 (4.8 % of the total) for non-CIS countries.
The largest flow of foreign nationals into the country was recorded from the following neighbouring countries: Kazakhstan-2,456,800 persons (29.7%of the total), Tajikistan-2,389,500 persons (28.9%), 1,533,700 persons (18.5%) from Kyrgyzstan, Russia-592,400 persons (7.2%), Turkmenistan-629,600 persons (7.6%) and Belarus-20,400 persons (0.2 %).
The largest flow from non-CIS countries was observed from Turkey - 108.0 thousand people (1.3%), China - 61.9 thousand people (0.7%), South Korea - 40.6 thousand people (0.5%), India - 32.1 thousand people (0.4%), Germany - 29.0 thousand people (0.3%), Japan - 25.2 thousand people (0.3%), France, Italy and Israel - 21.2, 20.8 and 13.9 thousand people respectively.
