Bishkek, Sept. 10, 2022. / Kabar /. More than 821 thousand Kyrgyzstanis visited Uzbekistan in 8 months of 2022, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Kazakhstan became the leader in the number of arrivals to the country - 922.7 thousand people. Kyrgyzstan is in second place - 821.9 thousand. The number of tourists who visited the country from Tajikistan amounted to 814.5 thousand.
In general, since the beginning of the year, more than 3 million people have visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. This figure is 1.5 million people, or almost 2 times more than the same period last year.
Foreign citizens booked and searched for tickets to Uzbekistan 2.6 times more than last year. Compared to last summer, Russians began to buy tickets to the country by 141% more, while demand from Koreans increased by 180%, Turkish citizens began to visit Uzbekistan by 144%.
