Bishkek, Jan. 18, 2021. /Kabar/. The State Personification Center under the Infocom State Enterprise issued 825,528 passports in 2020, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s State Registration Service reported on Monday.
These statistics include all types of passports: general civil, diplomatic, service, as well as ID-cards of 2017 sample.
Last year, the number of issued passports for Kyrgyz citizens decreased compared to previous years.
Thus, 901 thousand passports were made in 2017. A total of 916 thousand passports were personalized in 2018. In 2019, more than 950 thousand passports were issued.
Meanwhile, with the start of issuing biometric ID passports, more than 1 million 950 thousand lD-cards have been produced since May 2017 to date.
The one millionth biometric passport in Kyrgyzstan was issued on Jan. 14, 2019.
The two-millionth lD-card is expected to be issued in February 2021.
