Over the past 8 years, 60 Chinese have become citizens of Kyrgyzstan – MP

Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2019. /Kabar/. Over the past 8 years, 60 Chinese have become citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Chairman Iskhak Pirmatov told at a meeting of the Committee for International Affairs, Defence and Security.

The deputy was indignant that in connection with the recent events related to China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic does not express its official position.

The parliamentarian believes that people are outraged by the fact that the Chinese are issued citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic a lot.

“Why doesn’t the Foreign Ministry announce official statistics on citizenship. I’ve learned that in 2018 10 thousand less people arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic than in 2017. Over the past 8 years, 60 Chinese have received citizenship. This is mainly through marriage,” he said.

In addition, Pirmatov called on the government to carry out explanatory work in connection with the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz people in China.
