Over thousand foreign citizens and refugees receive health insurance: MHIF

Bishkek, Nov.18, 2019. /Kabar/. Over 9 months of 2019, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) has issued more than 5 thousand mandatory medical insurance policies worth KGS 6 million 744 thousand 604, the press service of the Fund reported.

Of them 3 thousand 856 policies were issued to self-employed, 20-military personnel, 981 to foreign nationals and 268-UNHCR refugees.

The compulsory health insurance (CHI) policy gives the right to get preferential medical services under the CHI program.

Policyholder is the insured person who is entitled to:

- Free of charge outpatient medical services at the Family Practice Center/ Family Doctors Group preventive measures, doctor's appointment and consultation, basic laboratory and diagnostic tests.

- Emergency medical assistance, immobilization, prescription of medical treatment and medical injections.

The CHI policy is valid throughout the Kyrgyz Republic in health care institutions operating in the system of the Unified Payer, with whom contracts on mandatory health insurance have been concluded.
