Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2021 / Kabar /. Pakistan intends to build a logistics warehouse in Kyrgyzstan for storing vegetables and fruits, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ermek Omuraliev and Kyrgyz Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ulanbek Totuyaev met with representatives of the IRP business community, headed by the President of Hac Agri company Haruun Chaudhry.

The meeting took place on Oct. 6 as part of the ongoing work to promote economic diplomacy.

During the meeting, Omuraliev outlined the steps taken by the leadership and the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan to protect investments and business, informed about the presence of significant potential in the development of trade, economic and investment and production cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The head of the Hac Agri Chaudhry, noting the presence of unused potential of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, expressed interest in the supply of citrus and fruit products of Pakistan, which are not grown in the Kyrgyz Republic and could be supplied not only to the market of the Kyrgyz Republic, but also through Kyrgyzstan to other potential sales markets of the region; interest in promoting through the potential of Has Agri the Kyrgyz export of oriented agricultural products to the market of Pakistan and other potential countries, as well as the willingness to consider and discuss the issue of investment and implementation in the Kyrgyz Republic of a project to create a pilot Trade and Logistics Center for harvesting, processing / storage and packaging of fruit and vegetables and beans and legumes, according to international standards..

Ambassador Totuyaev stressed that, taking into account the advantages of Kyrgyzstan, the Pakistani company expressed its intention to build a logistics warehouse in the Kyrgyz Republic for storing fruits and vegetables with controlled atmospheric pressure for subsequent distribution of products to other countries in the region.

At the same time, the head of the Hac Agrı company also informed that the representatives of the Pakistani delegation are of particular interest to the import of organic agricultural products of Kyrgyzstan (honey, dried fruits, prunes, beans and lentils, etc.).

In conclusion, the sides expressed their readiness to concentrate efforts on discussing ways to develop and implement such specific projects.

Within the framework of the visit, Pakistani businessmen have scheduled meetings with representatives of state bodies and private structures of Kyrgyzstan.
