Bishkek, April 20, 2022 . / Kabar / . An opening ceremony of the Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Trade and Investment Forum was held in Islamabad.
The Forum with the participation of representatives of the Kyrgyz and Pakistani business circles has started its work at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Pakistan with the support of the USAID regional office on economic integration, the Government of Pakistan and the Chambers of Commerce of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
The purpose of this event is to establish and develop contacts between business circles of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuyaev, making a welcoming speech, noted that the economy of Kyrgyzstan has a huge trade and economic potential for partners. He emphasized that President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as well as Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov pay special attention to the development of a favorable investment climate in Kyrgyzstan.
Head of the USAID regional office for economic integration Bano Burki, Deputy Minister of Trade of Pakistan Syed Hamid Ali, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Nadeem also made welcoming remarks.
During the forum, Kyrgyz businessmen made presentations on their economic opportunities in the pharmaceutical, textile, logistics, IT and energy sectors, industry, agriculture, food industry, and construction.
The events included business meetings between business circles of the two countries and B2B negotiations.
The Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Trade and Investment Forum will run until April 23 and continue its work in Islamabad and Lahore.
