Pakistan offers Kyrgyzstan to use its seaports to promote trade

Bishkek, Oct. 25, 2023 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Foreign Minister of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani, who arrived in Bishkek for a working visit to attends the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current agenda of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. Attaching high importance to the development of Kyrgyz-Pakistani political ties, the ministers expressed interest in exchanging high-level visits and holding the next round of political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the two countries.

Kulubaev noted the need for the early signing of interagency agreements on cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education and the military-technical sector, the signing of which will raise the level of Kyrgyz-Pakistani interstate ties.

The Pakistani FM expressed the interest of the Pakistani side in developing the transit potential of the region, including within the framework of the existing Pakistan-China-Kyrgyzstan transport corridor. He invited Kyrgyz business circles to use the opportunities of Pakistani seaports to promote global trade.

In the context of mutual interest of the parties in creating favorable conditions for the development of trade and economic component, the Kyrgyz and Pakistani ministers welcomed the meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Pakistani intergovernmental commission, the next meeting of which will be held in the near future.
