Bishkek, Jan. 20, 2021 / Kabar /. The result of a home visit in 2020 showed that parents of 85 thousand 459 children in Kyrgyzstan are in migration, Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told at a parliamentary meeting.

According to her data, 69 thousand 530 of them are in external migration, 15 thousand 929 - in internal migration.

“It also turned out that 3 thousand 816 of them were left in the care of strangers, not even relatives. In whatever good conditions a child is kept, if his parents are in migration, he is considered a child in a difficult life situation. We are planning to adopt a law according to which a migrant cannot leave the country if he has children until an official guardian is established,” the minister said.
