Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2018 / Kabar /. A solemn opening ceremony of the memorial sign of Chyngyz Aitmatov park took place in Minsk, Belarus with the participation of Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev.
The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Rumas, the official delegation from Kyrgyzstan and residents of the Belarus capital.
“Chyngyz Aitmatov is a great son of the Kyrgyz people, he was a global personality. This park is a symbol of strong friendship between our states,” Rumas said.
Abylgaziyev, on behalf of the Kyrgyz people, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, and on his own behalf expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Belarus, as well as to the Minsk City Executive Committee for the decision to name a picturesque park in the center of the hero-city Minsk after Chyngyz Aitmatov.
“We believe that the young generation will spend their time in this park, the creative elite of Belarus and its aura will give strength to the emergence of new ideas and thoughts affecting the development of mankind, and will give birth to new writers like Aitmatov,” said Abylgaziev.
The Prime Minister stressed that Aitmatov is a great writer and modern philosopher who made a great contribution to the development of world, Soviet and national Kyrgyz culture, literature and art.
His works have been translated into more than 180 languages of the world and published in 128 countries with a total circulation of more than 100 million copies.
Abylgaziev reminded that this year Kyrgyzstan and the whole world are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Chyngyz Aitmatov.
Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, arrived in Minsk for a working visit to Minsk (Belarus). During the visit, the head of government take part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on November 26-27.
