Bishkek, March 24, 2020./Kabar/.The Jogorku Kenesh approved a resolution on introduction of a state of emergency in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Dzhalal-Abad and three regions in the south.
The Parliament convened for extraordinary session to consider the issue.
A total of 104 MPs voted unanimously in favour of imposing the state of emergency.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed a decree on the introduction of a state of emergency in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat, Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast, as well as in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
According to the Constitution, the Jogorku Kenesh approves or revokes presidential decrees on this issue.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan reached 42.
