Parliament Committee on International Affairs examines situation at Kyrgyz-Tajik border behind closed doors

Bishkek, Mar. 19, 2019. /Kabar/. The Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) is examining the situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border behind closed doors.

Vice Prime Minister Zamirbek Askarov proposed the committee members to consider the first issue in a closed manner.

On March 13, a conflict occurred between residents of Aksai village of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan and Mekhnatabad village of Tajikistan at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Kozhogar area. The cause of the conflict was the construction of the Aksai-Tamdyk bypass road. The authorities of the two countries managed to stabilize the situation.
