Bishkek, Aug.8, 2019. /Kabar/. Parliament Speaker Dastan Dzhumabekov on Aug. 8 declared open the extraordinary session of the Jogorku Kenesh.
The speaker said he received an appeal with the signatures of the majority of MPs, asking him to convene a session of parliament in connection with the current situation after an attempt to storm the house of former President Almazbek Atambayev in the village of Koi-Tash.
In this regard, in accordance with the Constitution, the Law “On the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic” he decided to convene a session.
Today, Aug. 8, 61 parliament members, as well as Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov, State Committee for National Security Chairman Orozbek Opumbayev, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Rayimberdi Duishenbiev and others are present at the meeting.
