Bishkek, March 25, 2022. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Talant Mamytov held on Friday a meeting in the format of videoconferencing with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Li Zhanshu.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that during the virtual meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and inter-parliamentary interaction. In addition, there was an exchange of views on the development of mutual relations in the field of security and in the trade and economic sphere.
The Kyrgyz speaker stressed that Kyrgyzstan gives priority to cooperation with China.
Talant Mamytov also noted the fruitful meeting of leaders of the two countries in February this year, and expressed hope for successful implementation of agreements reached.
In addition, gratitude was expressed to the Chinese side for its support during the pandemic, as well as for the decision to provide an additional 5 million doses of vaccines.
At the end of his speech, Talant Mamytov touched on the issue of resuming direct flights between the two countries and asked his interlocutor to help increase the capacity of the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints, as well as to resume full-time study of Kyrgyz students at Chinese universities and issuing student visas.
In turn, Li Zhanshu noted the high level of trust between Kyrgyzstan and China and elaborated on positive developments in bilateral cooperation.
In general, the parties expressed mutual interest in the comprehensive development and expansion of bilateral cooperation, including the maintenance of permanent Kyrgyz-Chinese inter-parliamentary dialogue and the exchange of official parliamentary delegations.
They also congratulated each other on the milestone event in the history of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
