Bishkek, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov met on Monday with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.

During the meeting, held as part of the Kyrgyz speaker’s working visit to the Russian capital city of Moscow, the sides discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation and interaction in political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Talant Mamytov noted the high level of inter-parliamentary interaction and stressed the desire of the Kyrgyz side to preserve and build on the achieved dynamics of interaction.

Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz speaker noted with regret that the COVID-19 pandemic has made adjustments to the program of joint activities within the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. In this regard, he proposed to update the remaining activities taking into account the stabilization of the epidemiological situation and the closing ceremony in Kyrgyzstan in 2021.

In addition, the Kyrgyz side requested to consider possibility to increase the number of regular air and rail services, observing all sanitary and epidemiological norms and requirements.

"There is a need to increase the number of regular flights between our countries, or remove restrictions on passenger transportation on charter flights. Kyrgyzstani airlines have to perform flights from Kyrgyzstan to Russia without revenue load, which negatively affects the cost of air tickets," Mamytov added.
