Bishkek, April 18, 2021 . / Kabar / . A delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh, led by Speaker Talant Mamytov, met with Kyrgyzstanis living in St. Petersburg.
The meeting took place as part of a working visit of the delegation to Russia, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament said Sunday.
MPs of the Jogorku Kenesh and Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh in an Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS IPA) and a Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) also participated in the meeting.
Speaker Mamytov noted he appreciated the opportunity to meet with compatriots and exchange views on topical issues.
He informed Kyrgyzstanis about the internal political situation in the republic and the results of the constitutional referendum, as well as the results of the CIS IPA meeting in St. Petersburg, where special attention was paid to the measures taken to further improve the conditions of stay of migrant workers in Russia.
Talant Mamytov said the Council on Migration Issues, Compatriots and Diasporas Abroad has been established which will ensure the timely development of recommendations and proposals to support and protect the rights and legitimate interests of compatriots abroad.
The speaker answered the questions concerning measures to support compatriots, difficulties in sending bodies of deceased (cargo-200) from Russia to Kyrgyzstan, high prices for air tickets between countries, introduction of Meken-Card, improvement of Chyngyz Aitmatov square in St. Petersburg, opening of General Consulate, providing compulsory health insurance to family members of Kyrgyz migrant workers in Russia and improvement of educational sphere.
