Bishkek, Feb. 6, 2019. / Kabar /. Daewoo Matiz passenger car was hit by an avalanche last night on Sary-Tash-Daroot-Korgon-Karamyk road in Chonh-Alai region of Osh oblast. The driver and the passenger were in the car, the Emergencies Ministry’s press service reported.
The incident occurred at the 98th kilometer of the highway in the village of Daroot-Korgon. Two avalanches came down to this part of the road: the first at 18:40 with a volume of 600 cubic meters, and the second at 19:34 with a volume of 700 cubic meters.
No one was hurt as a result of the incident. Rescuers helped those who were in the car, after which they went home on their own vehicles.
At the moment, the road is closed and being cleared.
