Patients with COVID-19 omicron strain were hospitalized in early January - HQ

Bishkek, Jan. 12, 2022 . / Kabar / . Omicron strain of COVID-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in Kyrgyzstan's Chui Oblast, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said Wednesday.

The HQ also reported that 465 new cases of coronavirus were revealed in the last 24 hours, which broke records in the last 5 months.

"The National Center for Phthisiology performed sequencing to determine the strain of the coronavirus. Samples were taken in early January among those hospitalized at the Republican Infectious Disease Hospital and the omicron strain was detected in two of them," the report says.
