PCR laboratory opened at Manas airport

Bishkek, May 21, 2021. / Kabar /. A Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratory for testing COVID-19 has been opened at the Manas International Airport of Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Zhyldyz Bakashova took part in the opening ceremony of a new PCR laboratory "AMSBIOLAB" of the BS Group corporation of the Republic of Korea.

The laboratory will start functioning in the near future, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

Zhyldyz Bakashova noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to bilateral relations and cooperation with the Republic of Korea.

“Like many countries, Kyrgyzstan is highly appreciated and impressed by South Korea's success in the fight against COVID-19, especially quarantine measures and coverage of the population with coronavirus testing. As part of countering the pandemic, I want to emphasize the importance and timeliness of the opening of a laboratory for PCR testing by a South Korean company,” she said.

The deputy head of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that with the opening of the Center for PCR testing, new opportunities are opening up for investing in the health sector of the Kyrgyz Republic with the involvement of advanced technologies.

“I express my hope that your company will expand its activities in Kyrgyzstan not only in the field of medicine, but also in other important sectors of the economy. The creation of a favorable business environment, as well as the protection of the interests of foreign investors, is one of the priority tasks of the Cabinet of Ministers. We will continue to make every effort to further strengthen bilateral relations between our countries,” said Zhyldyz Bakashova.

During the opening ceremony, chairwoman of BS Group, Park Hye-Rin expressed hope for fruitful cooperation and partnership.

“This modern laboratory provides high-quality and urgent PCR testing, which will create convenience for citizens arriving in the country, tourists and entrepreneurs. We are glad to cooperate with the Kyrgyz Republic,” she said.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Ha Tae-youk emphasized in his speech that the Republic of Korea will be a reliable partner for Kyrgyzstan in the field of investments. He especially noted the activities of the BS Group corporation and expressed hope for the development of investment cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.
