Chairman of the State Service for Punishments Execution of Kyrgyzstan Taalaybek Zhaparov met in Bishkek on Sunday with Director and Vice Director of the Training Center of the Korea Correctional Service Bunjil Park and Jayun Zhun, the press service of the State Service for Punishments Execution of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The guests handed over a letter from the head of the Korea Correctional Service Kim Hak Song. The head of the prison service of Korea expressed his gratitude in the message for inviting the delegation of their country to take part in the Penitentiary Forum. He stressed that "the participation of the representatives of the Republic of Korea is a significant beginning of cooperation and friendship of both countries in the sphere of execution of punishments".
During the conversation, the guests thanked for the warm welcome, shared their impressions of both the forum and the visits to correctional facilities. They said that it was useful for them to get acquainted with an isolated section for keeping prisoners convicted of extremism and terrorism in prison # 27. At the same time, they said that in their country there are no convicts for religious extremism, but if they do, they will necessarily take advantage of the experience of Kyrgyzstan.
The guests were satisfied with the openness of the Kyrgyz Penal System and expressed hope for the continuation of the dialogue between the correctional departments of Kyrgyzstan and Korea.
