Permanent Rep of Kyrgyzstan to UN meets with UN deputy secretary general for political affairs and peacebuilding

Bishkek, March 23, 2022 / Kabar/. Aida Kasymalieva, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, met on March 22 with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said that during the meeting the sides discussed topical issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN in various areas, exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.

Aida Kasymalieva noted the central and coordinating role of the UN in maintaining peace and security, strengthening friendship between countries and addressing global socio-economic issues and challenges. In addition, the Kyrgyz side informed about initiatives within the UN, in particular on climate change, the mountain agenda and regional cooperation in the context of the initiative of the head of state to hold the UN-Central Asia Summit.

In turn, Rosemary DiCarlo noted that the UN attaches great importance to cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic and welcomed the initiatives to strengthen regional cooperation.
