Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN took part in thematic debates

Bishkek, June 12, 2020 / Kabar /. Mirgul Moldoisaeva, Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN, took part in high-level thematic debates on the impact of rapid technological changes on the implementation of the SDGs, organized by the initiative of the President of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Tijani Mohammed Bande.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the main theme of this event was the dissemination of information about the activities of the UN, multilateral institutions and other interested parties in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, taking into account rapid technological changes.

Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva in her speech noted the importance of developing international cooperation in the field of technology diffusion.

She highlighted the restructuring of the external debt of developing countries by introducing a mechanism for converting debt into projects for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Moldoisaeva also informed about the implementation of the project to introduce new and information and communication technologies in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres introduced the Roadmap for the development of cooperation in the field of technology with recommendations for UN member countries. Other UN leaders noted the importance of bridging the digital divide while observing human rights.
