Peskov on informal meeting between Putin and Jeenbekov in Sochi

Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2019. /Kabar/. Press Secretary for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov uncovered one of the topics discussed by Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov during an informal meeting in the city of Sochi on Saturday, February 9.

With reference to the words of the Kremlin representative, the TASS agency wrote that the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Russia spoke about the possibility of training Kyrgyz religious workers at the Islamic Academy of Tatarstan. After negotiations with his counterpart, Putin met with the first and current leaders of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Rustam Minnikhanov.

The President of the Russian Federation, as the representative of the Kremlin noted, recalled that he had recently held a meeting with leader of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, and asked for assistance in ensuring that religious workers from Kyrgyzstan had the opportunity to study at the academy.

“And Putin asked both the leader of Tatarstan and the first president of the republic to find such an opportunity and set up an appropriate system,” Peskov said.

Earlier, the press service of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic had reported on the general nature of the meeting of the two leaders. According to their data, the leaders of two states discussed issues of the cooperation and details of the upcoming state visit of Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan, which is scheduled for the end of March 2019.

In addition, it was stated that on all other issues discussed, the sides would work out the details within the remaining one and a half months.
