Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2021 / Kabar /. Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine supplies to Kazakhstan will begin on Nov. 8, Russian media reports citing Deputy Health Minister Marat Shoranov.
"The delivery of Pfizer vaccines is expected between Nov. 8-14 of this year," Shoranov told reporters on Thursday.
He said that vaccines will be delivered in accordance with contractual obligations: 4million doses for 2 million people.
The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Aleksey Tsoi announced on Oct.6 that Kazakhstan had signed a final contract with Pfizer to supply about 4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the republic. Previously, the ministry explained that the Pfizer vaccine will primarily be used for voluntary immunization of adolescents aged 12-17 years and pregnant women, since this is the only vaccine recommended for people in this category, since it has been proven to be effective and safe.
Five vaccines are now available in Kazakhstan for inoculation - Sputnik V, QazVac, Hayat-Vax, CoronaVac, Vero Cell vaccine. In addition, in July, the Ministry of Health registered the Russian single-component vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik Light.
