Bishkek, June 16, 2023. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan plans to build a plant for the production of insulin and other medicines on the territory of the Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ), Director General of the company in Kyrgyzstan Zhyrgalbek Sagynbaev told reporters at Kabar Agency.
According to him, the land for the construction of the enterprise has already been allocated by the government.
“Today we are ready to start construction. The project will begin with the construction of warehouses according to international standards. Warehouses will be modern and the first in the country to be robotized. Warehouse area will be more than 4 thousand square meters," he said.
Sagynbaev also noted that several biolaboratories and the main plant for the production of medicines will be built.
"The total investment will amount to 150 million US dollars, more than 1,000 jobs will be created," he said.
In turn, Sarel Chen-Tov, CEO and co-owner of BIOPHARMAX, said that the company's task is to bring high technologies to Kyrgyzstan. “We also plan to build a plant that will reduce the country's import dependence on medicines. In addition, it is planned to arrange the export of drugs that will be produced in Kyrgyzstan and sent abroad,” he said.
Sarel Chen-Tov noted that the future plant will be equipped with the latest technologies and meet all international standards.
“The appearance of a pharmaceutical plant in the country will increase the availability of medicines. In addition, when interacting with specialized educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan, we will be able to raise a generation that has knowledge in the field of high technologies,” he added.
Also, the chairman of the board of directors of the company, Yigal Turisky, said that a project for a future plant in Bishkek is currently being developed.
“All medicines produced in the country should meet international standards and be stored safely. The company will provide support to other enterprises in Kyrgyzstan that also produce medicines,” he added.
