Phone talk held between Presidents Zhaparov and Mirziyoyev

Bishkek, April 8, 2022. / Kabar /. A phone talk was held on Friday between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the talk, Mirziyoyev congratulated Zhaparov on the successful completion of negotiations with Centerra on the status of the Kumtor gold deposit and the signing of a corresponding agreement, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.

The two leaders discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Uzbek bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the regional agenda.

The president of Kyrgyzstan thanked the Uzbek side for resolving the issue of construction of two schools in Batken Oblast, as well as the reconstruction of the Osh State Academic Uzbek Musical and Drama Theater named after Babur.

Zhaparov also expressed confidence that the planned return visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan will certainly contribute to further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Kyrgyz leader emphasized that he is looking forward to the personal participation of Mirziyoyev in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Economic Forum, scheduled for May 26-27 in Bishkek.

In conclusion, the presidents exchanged congratulations on the holy month of Ramadan.
