Photo exhibition dedicated to migrants and their families opens in Bishkek

Bishkek, Mar. 18, 2019. /Kabar/. An exhibition of photographs of famous Central Asian photographer Elyor Nematov on the topic of migration has been launched in Ololohaus Erkindik in Bishkek.

The exhibition presents a series of photographs "I am a foreigner" and "Dad will be back tomorrow.", photos about the life of migrant workers abroad, human fates, and significant events in the lives of people who came to a foreign country to work.

According to the German Society for International Cooperation, in 2017 migrants transferred to Kyrgyzstan $ 2.5 billion, which exceeds the budget expenditures of the whole country and in 2018 the country ranked first in the world in terms of remittances to GDP. That is why the topic of migration is very relevant today.

The exhibition is supported by the Migrant Ishker information office, which operates in Ololohaus Erkindik and helps migrants to reintegrate into the business sphere of Kyrgyzstan.
