Bishkek, Apr. 25, 2018 / Kabar /. In honor of the 140th anniversary of the city of Bishkek, the opening of the Pishpek-Frunze-Bishkek photo-documentary exhibition took place at the Kyrgyz State Museum-House of Frunze, the press service of the Bishkek Mayor's Office reported.
Vice Mayor of Bishkek Aigul Ryskulova, the museum management, schoolchildren and students took part in the opening of the photo exhibition.
The exhibition materials tell a brief history of the emergence and development of the city of Bishkek.
The Frunze Museum houses the main exhibit house where Mikhail Vasilievich Frunze was born. The house is an architectural monument of the 19th century. And the museum building was built in 1967 over the house and is an architectural monument of the 20th century.
Pishpek is the olf name of Kyrgyzstan's capital city, in 1926 it was renamed after Frunze and it became Bishkek since 1991.
