Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov today participated in the opening ceremony of the International Issyk-Kul Forum "Chyngyz Aitmatov and Challenges of Modernity" on Friday and delivered a welcoming speech to the forum participants, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Krutko read aloud a message on behalf of President of Russia Vladimir Putin. On behalf of the organizers of the first Issyk-Kul forum, a welcoming speech was made by Rustem Khairov, Executive Director of the International Public Foundation for the Survival and Development of Humanity. He also voiced messages to forum participants on behalf of Mikhail Gorbachev, Italian scientist Augusto Forti and Spanish diplomat Federico Mayor.
Advisor of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation Alexander Goncharov, Director of the UNESCO Cluster Bureau Christa Picat, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusanbay Kaseinov, Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Ivan Belekov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education of the Milli Mejlis, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Isa Gabbibeyli, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Leyla Fazleeva, Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Fanzil Chingizov and Kazakh writer Olzhas Suleimenov noted the significance of the forum and Aitmatov’s greatness in their welcoming remarks.
Further, the Forum is held in the format of plenary sessions.
On October 6-7, the Forum will continue its work in Issyk-Kul in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
Well-known writers and scientists, cultural scientists, philologists from the near, far abroad and Kyrgyzstan take part in the forum.
