Bishkek, Mar. 18, 2019. /Kabar/. Photographer Ivan Turkovsky posted photos of flamingo wintering in Issyk-Kul on his Facebook page.
“Do you remember that last year I was lucky to take pictures of wintering flamingos on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul? Oh, how I wanted to see them again this year! Though I don’t really like winter, I looked forward to the cold in hope. In December and January, I traveled around Issyk-Kul several times, peering at flocks of swans, hoping to see pink wings among them ... I even bought binoculars on purpose, although I hadn’t used them before. And only the third trip in early February was a success. And I found him! You have no idea what pleasure it is – stay in a hide, spending hours watching the life of this beautiful creature, admiring the way the bird wanders majestically along the shore, searches for food, cleans feathers or sleeps while standing on one leg,” the photographer wrote.
He also said that he spent three days on the photography, and took some longed-for pictures.
“I wanted to immediately share these pictures with you, but, worrying that other people would also like to find it, and for the bird it would be a big factor of anxiety that could lead to a sad end, I took every ounce of willpower and waited for spring. Now that the bird left our country, I can post the pictures. PS. Friends, if you see an unusual bird or a wild animal, please do not frighten or disturb them – do not come close, do not make noise, let the animal continue to go about its business,” Turkovsky wrote.
