Bishkek, Jan. 24, 2020. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov today, January 24, held a regular meeting of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Security Council reviewed the implementation of decisions taken at its meetings in 2018–2019 and proposals for the list of strategic facilities of the country.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that the implementation of the main directions of the state policy on combating corruption and the digital transformation of the country remains priority areas in his presidency, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
The head of state criticized the leaders of several state bodies for failure to implement and untimely implementation of the decisions of the Security Council and recalled that they will be personally responsible for this.
Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbaev made a report on the progress in implementing the decisions of the Security Council adopted at its meetings in 2018-2019. Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov, Chairman of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva and Attorney General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov made reports on the implementation of the Security Council decision “On Actual Measures to Combat Corruption in the Judicial, Supervisory and Law Enforcement Agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic” dated February 8, 2018.
Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications, Advisor to the President Dastan Dogoev, presented a report on the implementation of the decision of the Security Council of December 14, 2018, on measures to develop the digital transformation of the Kyrgyz Republic, chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Edil Osmonbetov reported “On measures to ensure security in the field of subsoil use of the Kyrgyz Republic” on January 30 2019.
At the meeting of the Security Council, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, leader of the parliamentary majority coalition Isa Omurkulov and leader of the Onuguu-Progress parliamentary fraction Bakyt Torobaev also spoke.
Following the meeting, a decision was made by the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, which recommended the implementation of about 30 measures, including the preparation of a new draft State Strategy for the Anti-Corruption Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Security Council also recommended that the heads of individual government bodies be disciplined for the improper implementation of the decisions of the Security Council adopted in 2018-2019. Separate points of today's decision of the Security Council provide recommendations to the Jogorku Kenesh, the government and the Supreme Court to implement unfulfilled measures over the next half year.
