Bishkek, Jan. 5, 2018 / Kabar/. Pink flamingos are flying in to Kyrgyzstan, pictures of these beautiful birds on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake prove it.
Photographer Ivan Turkovski published this footage on his Facebook page and specified that this is not surprising since Kyrgyzstan is a country of a natural variety.
"This bird is very gorgeous. Probably, many of you now will be very surprised, but, yes such a bird can be found in our country. This exotic bird can be found in our country both during seasonal migrations and during winter time in Issyk Kul, where I actually met the bird,” Turkovski wrote.
The photographer stressed that he cannot say the exact location of flamingos, since those who want to look at the birds alive can harm them.
Pink or Caribbean flamingos very carefully choose the place where they will live. They settle on shores of shallow salt lagoons, where they find not only food, but also look for places convenient for building nests. Because of high concentration of salts in water, very few plants can grow near such water bodies, so the banks of these reservoirs are usually deprived of green cover. Pink flamingos are very shy birds, especially this is observed during nesting. Pink flamingos nest in Asia, fly away to south in winter, to shores of Iran and India. Most flamingos have a sedentary lifestyle and leave their homes only in the event of natural disasters.
