Place where young people can meet Kyrgyz President and Prime Minister appears in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2018. /Kabar/. The grand opening of the Youth Center was held in Bishkek on Tuesday. It is located in the building of the Palace of Sports named after Kojomkul Kaba uulu, the press service of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports reported.

The Youth Center will become a platform for holding round tables, conferences, master classes, as well as meetings with top officials of the state. It includes large and small conference halls, interactive and computer rooms, which are equipped with the necessary office technologies, Internet and furniture.

Director of the State Agency Kanat Amankulov, State Secretary of the institution Nurzhan Bardinova, Deputy Resident Representative of the UN in Kyrgyzstan Aliona Niculita, Manager of the Prospects for Youth Project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) Christiane Oermann, representative of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Munara Sulaimanova-Ten and delegates to the Republican Youth Congress.

The tour of the new Center was held for the guests by Deputy Director of the State Agency Mirlan Parkhanov. He noted that the Center is a platform for effective self-realization of young people and their initiatives.

Earlier, from 12 to 13 November, the Republican Youth Congress of Kyrgyzstan was held in Bishkek. It was dedicated to the Youth Day of Kyrgyzstan, which has been celebrated annually on November 10 since 2002.

The official part of the event was held with the participation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. Speaking before enterprising young people of the country, the President encouraged them not to be afraid to offer their ideas and noted that he would personally support innovative initiatives aimed at the development of the country.

Further, the participants moved to the Palace of Sports, where a number of plenary discussions and group work were held. The congress gathered over 140 participants from all regions of the republic, namely representatives of active and enterprising groups.

The Youth Center was established by the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports with the support of international development partners - UNDP, German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The main target group of the Center is young citizens aged from 14 to 28 years.

Tasks of the Center:

- Attracting young people to the process of implementing the state youth policy;

- Solution of issues of vital activity of youth;

- Support for youth initiatives.

The work of the Center is financed from the budget of the Management of Sports Facilities and Sports Support state institution under the State Agency, as well as specia-purpose investments, grants, and sponsorship funds.
