Bishkek, March 15, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Finance Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Japan Ruslan Tatikov and Masato Kanda discussed plans to create a Kyrgyz-Japanese Development Fund at a meeting in Tokyo, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The fund is expected to influence the growth of investment, modernization and industrial development, as well as the effective expansion of bilateral economic cooperation and trade turnover, the report said.
In addition, the issue of exchanging Kyrgyzstan’s debt for climate projects was raised.
Issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of human resource development, obtained as a result of the implementation of the Japanese government grant program for the training of civil servants (JDS*), were also discussed.
The parties outlined successful trends in the development of cooperation between the governments of the two countries and expressed hope for further continued strengthening of friendly relations.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to exchange experience in reforming the financial management information system.
The JDS project provides state and municipal employees of the Kyrgyz Republic with the opportunity to obtain a master's degree at universities in Japan to support the government of the Kyrgyz Republic's personnel training policy and to develop bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
