He added there were difficulties in obtaining raw materials, particularly from China, and curfew also caused difficulties in providing workers with access to jobs.
"Some enterprises had to stop their activities, in particular, the Bishkek Machine-Building Plant, Dastan Transnational Corporation and the Frunze Metalworks Plant. A number of enterprises did not stop their work, but reduced production," he emphasized.
In general, more than 10 enterprises have suspended their activities, among them Kant Cement Plant, Tokmok Glass Plant and others. Due to lower sales volumes, the production volume was also reduced.
"As a result of the measures taken, most of the plants are working or will start working in the near future. Enterprises observe the necessary sanitary and epidemiological measures. Despite the difficult financial situation, many enterprises and companies have kept 2/3 of their employees' wages," he said.
The emergency situation regime was introduced in Kyrgyzstan on March 22, later a state of emergency was imposed with curfew in some cities and regions of the country on March 25 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
On May 10, curfew and state of emergency in the country were lifted.
