Plastic waste processing plant launched in Issyk-Kul with support of Kumtor Gold Company

Bishkek, July 8, 2022. / Kabar /. Kumtor Gold Company CJSC helped to launch a plastic processing plant in Saruu village of Issyk-Kul Oblast. All plastic waste collected and sorted at the Kumtor mine will be processed here, the company's press service said.

Modern equipment for the enterprise was produced in Belarus. Kumtor Gold Company helped with its purchase and delivery to Kyrgyzstan.

“The main goal of this plant is to preserve the ecology of Issyk-Kul. The enterprise can process up to 200 kilograms of raw materials per hour. So far, 12 people work here, but soon we will increase the number of jobs to 30. We plan to produce plastic fruit boxes from recycled raw materials. There are many orchards of apricots, cherries and apples in our area. Such products are in great demand here,” said Aibek Sarybaev, the head of the enterprise.
