Bishkek, Jan. 17, 2019. /Kabar/. The tournament of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) "Regional Hopes Week & Challenge" was held in Bishkek, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Education and Sports reported.
10-11-year-old players from Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the competition.
Alan Kurmangaliyev (Kazakhstan) and Reza Shariati (Iran) stood out among the boys in terms of skill, level of play and speed. Both players easily reached the finals, where the Iranian won with the score of 3-0. Third place was taken by Ramazan Nazir (Kazakhstan).
Three sportswomen took the lead among the girls – Tara Souri (Iran), Alisa Tsvigun and Victoria Mochalkina (both from Kazakhstan). All the participants scored the same number of points, and for the purposes of identifying the winner the number of games was counted. As a result, the Iranian player became the first, the second – Mochalkina, the third – Alisa Tsvigun.
The winners Reza Shariati and Tara Souri, as well as silver-medal winners Alan Kurmangaliyev and Victoria Mochalkina won licenses, got a chance to represent the Central Asian region at the tournament “The Asia Continental Hopes Week”.
