Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. The State National Russian Drama Theater named after Chyngyz Aitmatov invites residents and guests of Bishkek to celebrate the World Theater Day, many cultural and informative events await citizens and guests of the capital, representatives of the theater told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
Deputy Director of the Russian Drama Theater Valeria Pak congratulated all lovers of theatrical art on the holiday, which is celebrated around the world on March 27, and offered to share this day with them.
“It has become a tradition that every year the Russian Drama Theater celebrates the holiday in the form of open doors,” she shares, noting that the events are free of charge. “On March 30, we announce the opportunity to attend several plays for free, which also involve the Theater of Youth and Young Spectators named after Kydykeyeva and Seitek Center.”
Apart from plays, guests are invited to take part in a special program created by employees of the Russian Drama Theater – it is a theatrical quest, an annual subscription for free attendance of all performances can be won, and excursions where the Oak Park will be shown from a new perspective and the architecture of Soviet modernism will be described.
Production director Nelli Pleshakova enthusiastically exclaimed that “the theater is alive and that's great,” inviting to attend their new work at the end of the season – the play “8 любящих женщин” (Huit femmes, 8 Women), which they staged on their own.
“This is a criminal detective story written by a French writer, playwright Robert Thomas about eight women from different generations,” she said intriguingly.
One of the heroines of the tragicomedy will be played by Zinaida Petrenko, People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, who once played in the same play, but a different role. “35 years ago this performance was going on in the theater, I played a young girl there, now I play a grandmother,” she said with a smile.
At the end of her speech, Petrenko called on the government to help the theater. According to her, their second home is experiencing a number of difficulties, and there is no financing - everything has to be found by themselves. “For now it is very difficult for us. I would like the government to pay attention to the theater. After all, we are the only ones in the republic. We have an international group, which includes representatives of many ethnic groups,” she stressed.
The event is held by the Russian Drama Theater in conjunction with the Kyrgyz State Theater of Youth and Young Spectators named after Baken Kydykeyeva, Seitek National Center for Children and Youth.
The open doors day will be held on March 30 from 10:00 to 22:00.
